Infuse the Christmas spirit into your heart this season with the antique dances of Dickens’ life time and the sweet delicacies of the holidays. All the dances will be demonstrated and taught, so even the most inexperienced person will be able to fill their hearts with glee!
"Tis the season to be jolly and no man knew how to celebrate the season better than good old Fezziwig. According to Charles Dickens, "if any man alive knew how to keep the spirit of Christmas, he did." December 15th is the 8th annual Dickens Christmas Ball, so come start a new holiday tradition and celebrate the holiday season Fezziwig style, with a ball just as they knew in the time of Dickens and Victorian England complete with delicacies, parlor games, sining Christmas Carols around the piano, and frolicking of old fashioned charm.
Old Glory Vintage Dancers will expertly take you back in time and take you through the paces of the dances and the lively parlor games of that merry era. Come enliven your Christmas spirit in a grand way, by joining us at the ball.
We are thrilled to announce that Brooke Shaw will be delighting us with beautiful piano interludes of Christmas carols throughout the evening. Brooke started playing the piano at the age of 5. She continued taking lessons into her teens. As a teacher she enjoyed working with new students and helping advanced students improve their technique. Brooke has played for many church congregations on both the piano and organ starting at the age of 12. Additionally, she has accompanied many choirs and soloists during performances.
Dress from the lifetime of Dickens' (1812-1870) or modern formal is requested.

We will be performing at the Festival for our 7th year. It is always a beautiful show and a very worthy cause. Please come wander around the dipslays, support Primary Children's Hospital and stop and enjoy our dancing.
Please join Andrea Golding, Old Glory Vintage Dancers & Jane Austen Society of North America, Utah Region for an Austentatious night filled with Regency period dancing and card playin, banquet dinner and delectable desserts at our new location as you are transported back 200 years.
The Little America Hotel is very finely appointed and beautifully decorated with an old fashioned elegance quite befitting Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. This is our sixth annual Regency Romance Ball, but our first to be hosted at the distinguished Little America and is sure to sell out again this year so purchase your tickets early to avoid disappointment!
We will have prizes for the Best Dressed contest of Emma, Mr. Darcy, Captain & Mrs. Wentworth, and "Firth"est traveled winners. Register by Jan. 15 and your name will be added to the prize drawing for such prizes as gift certificates, zoo tickets, The Jane Game, Tea for Two at the Grand America, and free tickets to next year’s ball! Period music and piano interludes will be enjoyed throughout the evening in addition to Regency dancing and card playing tables.
Banquet Menu- Mixed greens with marinated blanched asparagus with balsamic vinegar dressing, parsley potatoes, chef choice vegetables, Welsh chicken, Little America homemade rolls, and fruit spritzer.
Dessert Menu -a sampling of each- Just a Triffle, Marzipan cake square, and parsnip and carrot tart.
Professional portraits will be available for $15 for 5x7 and $20 for 8x10. Cash and Cards are accepted, no checks, please.
We are pleased to announce that Jeff Rosbrugh will be delighting us with piano interludes. Mr. Rosbrugh has been playing piano professionally for the last 15 years. His work includes education both public and private, musical theater, and studio recording. He plays a wide variety of styles from classical to jazz, salsa, country and nearly everhting inbetween. Is dancing a little scary for you or your partner? Fear not, if you can walk, turn about and know your right from your left you can do these dances! Old Glory Vintage Dancers demonstrate and teach all the dances of the evening and you will be amazed at how graceful you can be. The Little America ballroom floor is carpeted, so please choose your footwear accordingly.
