Dickens' Christmas Ball

Infuse the Christmas spirit into your heart this season with the antique dances of Dickens’ life time and the sweet delicacies of the holidays. All the dances will be demonstrated and taught, so even the most inexperienced person will be able to fill their hearts with glee!
"Tis the season to be jolly and no man knew how to celebrate the season better than good old Fezziwig. According to Charles Dickens, "if any man alive knew how to keep the spirit of Christmas, he did." December 17th is the 7th annual Dickens Christmas Ball, so come start a new holiday tradition and celebrate the holiday season Fezziwig style, with a ball just as they knew in the time of Dickens and Victorian England complete with delicacies, parlor games and frolicking of old fashioned charm.
Old Glory Vintage Dancers will expertly take you back in time and take you through the paces of the dances and the lively parlor games of that merry era. Come enliven your Christmas spirit in a grand way, by joining us at the ball.
Dress from the lifetime of Dickens' (1812-1870) or modern formal is requested.
We are pleased to have Piano Interludes by Jeff Rosbrugh.
Jeff Rosbrugh has been playing piano since the age of 8 and professionally for the last 15 years. He has degrees in music from Point Loma Nazarene University and the University of Miami. His work experience includes education both public and private, musical theater, and studio recording. He enjoys playing a wide variety of styles from classical to jazz, salsa, country, and nearly everything in between. He also owns and operates Swordsman Studios as a composer, arranger, and producer. We will be performing at the Festival for our 6th year. It is always a beautiful show and a very worthy cause. Please come wander around the dipslays, support Primary Children's Hospital and stop and enjoy our dancing.

Refreshments fit for a King, Music to please a Queen and Regency dancing to delight the whole of the realm!
Please dress in attire befitting the Regency era or earlier complete with the masking of your face. Please no gore or horror to cause a fright.
Portraits to be rendered for a small remuneration. Mask contest to be conducted and rewarded.

We will have President Abraham Lincoln in attendance as we dance, play parlor games and enjoy period refreshments at our ball! He will also be available for pictures and to answer questions.
Life Member of the Association of Lincoln Presenters & current Commander of The Idaho Civil War Volunteers and presenting Lincoln since 1999; he will be availble for pictures and insightful information during the course of the ball. LincolnRemembered.org
Southbound Routes will be adding entertainment and ambiance with their historical live music throughout the evening. Well known for their moving historical, Bluegrass, and Country music they will be a delightful addition to the ball.

There will be a prize drawing of all those that register for the ball before April 2. As you register your name is added to the hat for such prizes as gift
certificates, zoo tickets, CD's, and more.

We will have a photographer on site and will be offering professional quality digital images for $5.
Civil War military or civilian attire is prefered or modern formal attire, please. Portait Photograghs and canidid pictures will be avaiable.

Join JASNA for an Austentatious night filled with Jane Austen period dancing, dinner and desserts. And as always we have prizes for contest winners, period music and professional portraits to purchase.
This is our Fifth annual Regency Romance Ball and is sure to sell out again this year so purchase your tickets early to avoid disapointment!
Is dancing a little scary for you or your partner? Fear not, if you can walk, turn about and know your right from your left you can do these dances! Old Glory Vintage Dancers demonstrate and teach all the dances of the evening and you will be amazed at how graceful you can be.
